The majority of our health & wellbeing activities are cost-free and a great place for young people to make friends and have fun. 


School Holiday Activities

An inclusive program open to all children and young people from 9 to 18 years of age, this program keeps young people active and engaged during school holiday periods with a focus on having fun, making new friends and learning positive social skills. 

Each holiday program is different and activities range from games days at The Shack to outdoor adventure activities, fun creative workshops, sports days, cultural activities, out of area excursions and much more. 

When and where? Monday to Friday during school holiday periods. Times and locations vary. 

Cost: This is a low-cost program. Prices vary according to activity and exemptions are provided for young people in need.

Oz Tag

The OzTag program supports young people identified as disadvantaged, marginalised or at risk of offending or becoming disengaged from education. A highly successful program, OzTag teaches sportsmanship, teamwork, healthy living and engages young people in an activity that is an alternative to alcohol, drugs and anti-social behaviour. In 2012 ‘The Shack’ team were Grand Final champions! 

When and where? Wednesday nights at Heffron Park. Times vary. 

Cost: OzTag is a cost-free program

Tennis

Tennis is an inclusive program open to all young people of high school age. This long running program gives young people a chance to have fun, get exercise, unwind from the stress of school and learn tennis skills from a professional instructor. 

When and where? Friday afternoons at Snape Park, Maroubra. 4pm - 6pm

Cost: This is a low-cost program at a fee of $5 per week or $40 per term
