School Tutoring Program

The School Tutoring Program is full for 2010.

Applications for 2011 will be available in November.

Operating since 1996 the School Tutoring Program assists disadvantaged high school students who may be experiencing difficulties with school work, but cannot afford or access private tuition. The School Tutoring Program matches local students with volunteer tutors from the University of NSW who provide free weekly one-to-one tutoring.

Not only does the program provide affordable tutoring options, it also provides mentoring and role modelling that is an added benefit for participants.

The School Tutoring Program is often the difference between a young person staying in or dropping out of school.

The year July 2008 - June 2009 98 students from 13 different high schools enrolled in the STP.
